About Us
Company History
Westlake Hardware is a chain of 85 neighborhood hardware stores
located in the Midwest. The company was started in 1905 in Huntsville,
MO, when W. I. Westlake bought part ownership in a hardware store there.
Three years later he became sole proprietor and Westlake Hardware was
born. The company first expanded by opening new stores in Missouri and
then, in the 1970’s, opened stores in Kansas and other states.
Westlake
joined Ace Hardware in 1959 and is currently the largest Ace dealer.
Ace Hardware provides us with over 70,000 items and we benefit from
their immense buying power.
Westlake has always been a privately held company. It was family owned until 2006 when it was purchased by a private equity firm, Goldner Hawn Johnson and Morrison.
Though our merchandise assortment has changed over the years, our
commitment to customer service has not. Our mission is to help
homeowners keep their homes running smoothly. We do this by providing
friendly, knowledgeable help, quality products, and services that our
customers need to complete their projects. Our goal is to provide our
customers with a great shopping experience.
Westlake Hardware stores are located in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico
